Lisa Murphy - 500 hour certificate

Lisa uses yoga as a fun way to see the truth of the present moment, recognising and letting go of thoughts and ‘stuck’ emotions.

Yoga helped Lisa to remain calm and grounded when she was a nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital and now that she is a mother and nutritional therapist, she loves the sense of aliveness and calm in her body that she gets from her practise.

Lisa finds that prolonged distraction from the present moment results in her feeling stressed; yoga helps her to be more herself. She runs drop-in classes in Lewes and Plumpton.

Come, Kalamas. Do not go upon what has been acquired by repeated hearing; nor upon tradition; nor upon rumor; nor upon what is in a scripture; nor upon surmise; nor upon an axiom; nor upon specious reasoning; nor upon a bias towards a notion that has been pondered over; nor upon another's seeming ability; nor upon the consideration, 'The monk is our teacher.' Kalamas, when you yourselves know: 'These things are good; these things are not blamable; these things are praised by the wise; undertaken and observed, these things lead to benefit and happiness,' enter on and abide in them.
