Mantra & yoga

Singing, yoga and meditation have been the tools to which I’ve returned throughout my life to reconnect with my essential self. Over and over, they reveal that what I need is within, consistently giving me a sense of stability, grounding and focus.

My work background is in songwriting, classroom/private music teaching, therapeutic music-making and choir leadership, and more recently, teaching yoga and mantra. I have a deepening interest in the power of traditional Sanskrit mantra practices to guide and transform, and I combine these with my own mantras (which are written and sung in English).

Life can feel difficult, long and messy. I have always approached it with passion and determination, and these days I consciously practise honesty (satya), vulnerability and gratitude. An element of my offering as a teacher comes from first-hand knowledge of anxiety and auto-immune disease. I suggest that often, times of crisis and dissolution are actually the most authentic moments, and the best learning opportunities! Through all of life’s fluctuations, I firmly believe that we deserve to give ourselves the time and space to honour our wild and precious lives. To connect to each living moment in whatever form it chooses to take.

I therefore invite you to practice with me however you find yourself. In my mantra and yoga classes I hold a space for you to explore your own limitless nature…To ground and ease yourself into the living moment through natural breath, sound and movement, at your own pace. To enjoy a blissful moment of quiet, listening awareness.
