Yoga ‘found me’ in 1997, whilst travelling around Australia. I remember my first yoga class, and as I moved through a challenging balance, (vīrabhadrāsana III) I remember feeling incredibly light as if being ‘held’ by an invisible energy-field.
I have continued practicing yoga since then, connecting with local communities both here in the UK and when travelling abroad.
Yoga definitely supported me back to health following a motorcycle accident in 2006.
In 2019 I completed my first 200 hour yoga teacher training, graduating shortly before the global pandemic. Everything moved online, and I grappled with this change as a newly qualified teacher.
It was during this time my personal yoga practice blossomed; finding time to play and explore and a deeper connection to yoga, grew, through online classes with the Vajrasati school of yoga. In September 2023 I began my second yoga teacher training course.
I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of, and welcomed into, the Vajrasati school of yoga and the beautiful sangha (community) that’s been built over the last 25 years [founded in 2000].
My yoga classes offer students an opportunity to find their own rhythm, encouraging students to listen and respond to their body, with a loving kindness and curiosity.
I liken my classes to a shared journey, a way of deepening our connection to ourselves and each other, with a gentle focus on alignment and awareness of the breath. I open and close ‘the space’ with my love of mantra through sharing sound.
